My Adventure at Leang-Leang Cave




On Sunday, my parents, my best friend Novi, and I visited a cave at Maros called Leang-leang. It was my first time to visit the cave, better yet, my best friend came to visit it with me!

The cave was famous for its primitive cave wall paintings which were some hand prints and wild boar paintings. The cave and its surroundings was turned into a national park, so it was taken care of. My parents took a rest in a small hut for visitors of the park, while Novi and I adventured around the cave with a guide. We had to climb some metal stairs to get to the cave, because the cave was embedded into a small mountain. Next stop was a place where some seashells littered the ground and some were actually piled into a big mound! The guide said that these piles of seashells are called kjokkenmoddinger, or kitchen trash. The humans who lived here ate the shells and dumped the left overs in their 'kitchen'. The last place was a small museum where they have skeletons of the humans who lived in the caves. The skeletons along with some roughly made jewelry and weapons were placed inside glass cases for display. The walls of the museum were adorned with photographs taken when they did an excavation there.

After a quick lunch with Novi and my parents, we decided it was time to go back home. We really had the time of our lives!

Thermal Over Load Relay


Fungsi dari Over load relay adalah untuk proteksi motor listrik dari beban lebih. Seperti halnya sekring (fuse) pengaman beban lebih ada yang bekerja cepat dan ada yang lambat. Sebab waktu motor start arus dapat mencapai 6 kali nominal, sehingga apabila digunakan pengaman yang bekerja cepat, maka pengamannya akan putus setiap motor dijalankan. Over load relay yang berdasarkan pemutus bimetal akan bekerja sesuai dengan arus yang mengalir, semakin tinggi kenaikan temperatur yang menyebabkan terjadinya pembengkokan , maka akan terjadi pemutusan arus, sehingga motor akan berhenti. Jenis pemutus bimetl ada jenis satu phasa dan ada jenis tiga phasa, tiap phasa terdiri atas bimetal yang terpisah tetapi saling terhubung, berguna untuk memutuskan semua phasa apabila terjadi kelebihan beban. Pemutus bimetal satu phasa biasa digunakan untuk pengaman beban lebih pada motor berdaya kecil.

Kontruksi Over load relay apabila resistance wire dilewati arus lebih besar dari nominalnya, maka bimetal trip, bagian bawah akan melengkung k ekiri dan membawa slide ke kiri, gesekan ini akan membawa lengan kontak pada bagian bawah tertarik ke kiri dan kontak akan lepas. Selama bimetal trip itu masih panas, maka dibagian bawah akan tetap terbawa kekiri, sehingga kontak – kontaknya belum dapat dikembalikan kekondisi semula walaupun reset buttonnya ditekan, apabila bimetal sudah dingin barulah kontaknya dapat kembali lurus dan kontaknya baru dapat di hubungkan kembali dengan menekan reset button.
